Stepper motors
- Active Robots sell steppers, they deliver in approx. a week and a half to an address in the Netherlands.
Plastic
- RepRapSource sells ABS which has a nice white color and prints quite good.
- The German RepRap Foundation sells ABS as well in smaller quantities.
- BitFromBytes has quite a choice in plastics.
Metal
- Metaalwinkel BV sells steel and brass (messing) M8, and also stud 8mm (rondstaf), along with everything else you might ever need made out of metal.
- For the extrusion head, you will probably need a 0.5 mm drill. Here's my experience with the drill bits they sell at RS Components:
- 694-217 HSS metric twist drill, 0.5mm dia, 0.5 mm shank: This one will break easily. Not very usefull.
- 457-594 Tungsten drill bit 0.5mm dia, 3.2 mm shank: slightly better, but still it breaks very easy.
- 457-582 Tungsten drill bit 0.5mm dia, 0.5 mm shank: didn't test it yet, but it's the same material as the above
- 953-998 HSCo micro drill, 0,5mm cut dia, 1.0 mm shank: i used this one to drill 4 holes of 4mm deep in brass. The drill still looks good afterwards! It's the most expensive of them all, but it saves you a lot of nerves...
Electronics
- Farnell sells electronic components. A very large choice in components for professionals. (So no Arduino's here)
- floris.cc electronic thingies: another nice (dutch) supplier of arduino and other stuff (i just ordered two micro servos). low shipping cost, nice web shop, and prompt reply to email questions.
- IPrint3d Is a Belgian shop that mainly sells on RepRap electronics. No steady supply though. Sold out a lot.
- The German RepRap Foundation has a very useful webshop.
- Niels Woelders regularly sells electronic components on samenkopen.net. Shipping costs are very high because it has to come from China but some parts he sells are ridiculously cheap. (for instance: I will never run out of pinheaders again).
- RS-Components is a reseller of electronics components. The also sell Arduino's.
Extruder parts
- The German RepRap Foundation
- MakerGear has "Extruder essentials" packs which are very useful for rebuilding broken extruders. Although this shop seems pretty MakerBot oriented, these parts could be interesting for RepRap users as well. Shipping costs are very reasonable.
Other useful parts
- RepRapSource and The German RepRap Foundation sell bearing kits.
- DealExtreme will make sure you will never run out of Kapton tape again. Prices are low and shipping is free (from China!!) It takes three weeks to get to you, however.
- Conrad sells uninsulated resistor wire. Insulated with Kapton tape it can do a decent job of heating an extruder. It can also be used for heated build platforms and other things that need to be hot.
- Besides electronics, RS-Components sells all kinds of hardware.
Printable parts:
- Voor de RepRap versie 1 (Darwin) heeft Protospace een set mallen, waarmee je zelf de onderdelen kunt gieten. Ook voor een aantal onderdelen van versie 2 (Mendel) zijn al mallen gemaakt.
- More and more parts start showing up on EBay
